Arty Inspiration is all around!
When we really open our eyes, we see beauty and inspiration all round!
Last year we created a new art class called Mindful Pattern Design. It’s been a great success! Very relaxing, very mindful and creative too! Ubie has been developing some super artwork using the Mindful Pattern Design patterns she teaches at the class! Here’s three works from template to completion. All of these are available for sale as greeting cards or as prints. We will be displaying them at the forthcoming Crystal Palace Artists’ Open House.
Mindful Mandala Patterns
Naturally, we have to start with a Mandala!! They provide a wonderful structure for building up pattern layers, and as you can see Ubie started by building a symmetrical mandala framework and then adding some extra curves and completed with mindful patterns!

Chen Chen! Our mandala MasCAT!
We welcomed Chen Chen, our beautiful British Short-hair cat, to our home late last year.
She does great service at our art classes as our resident MasCAT!
She melts hearts all the time with her lovely cuddly but playful character! We adore her!!
Ubie used her picture as a template for this artwork filling it with patterns. An extra touch is the tail! The original version has an empty tail, we can fit any cat’s name on there to make a personal bespoke piece!
Mandala-saurus!
We are really delighted to be part of the Crystal Palace Artists’ OpenHouse 2020. So, we got our heads together to design and create a Mindful Pattern Design art piece that would resonate with locals!
The Crystal Palace Park dinosaurs are an iconic emblem of the area and have been in the beautiful park since 1854 would you believe! Ubie used the photo and added in the Crystal Palace Transmitting Tower and the lower park retaining wall to complete her interpretation!
